Concord Grape Rosemary Gin Fizz

Oinking Concord Grape Happy Hour is upon us. The long weekend is sidling up and we’re smack in the middle of the TwentyTwelve Fat Pig Concord Grape Party. Bright moment, huh?

Let’s mix it up. You need some Concord Grape Rosemary Syrup that I posted yesterday when we got this party started. If you didn’t rush out, buy Concord grapes and make it already…no worries. The grapey-rosemary syrup only takes about 20 minutes to make. If you have time then chill it for 30 minutes in the fridge. You also need limes, seltzer, gin, ice. And some fresh rosemary if you want to garnish with a sprig.

I didn’t garnish. All that gorgeous, fluffy, fresh rosemary…I just couldn’t let its culinary experience be so brief. Besides when you take a sip of this Concord Grape Rosemary Gin Fizz you get a whiff of the rosemary from the syrup and you taste it as a soft, herbal, low note in the drink. The earthiness of rosemary balances the jamminess of Concord grapes, lime sparks this beverage up and fizzy seltzer makes it refreshing, light, crisp. Definitely a bright moment for this last, long weekend of summer.

Get some summer in your glass and a glass in your paw with or without the alcohol…no pig shall be left un-beveraged!

See you on Tuesday for more grapefest. It’s gonna be frosty!
