Hello. I’m the writer of the oinking posts, the recipe scribbler, shutter-button pusher. Here’s a little more about me:
In my best daydreams I cultivate a leafy lettuce that tastes like Doritos.
I’ve been a fan of jazz hands since the day I went to see A Chorus Line when I was thirteen years old. My heart sped up when the whole cast high-kicked in unison.
A few years later the song that goes, “Oh god I need this job…” really resonated with my everyday life. I’m a Production Designer for films, an Art Director for commercials. I work on print ads and editorials as a Set Designer and Prop Stylist. We like to divvy up our titles and be weird about language in the entertainment industry.
I’m wicked with a glue gun.
I think objects and how they’re arranged tell a story. I’m kinda passionate about that topic. I’ll keep on talking about it accompanied by much hand-waving if you wanna chill at an outdoor cafe and get fired up about the language of objects with me.
I like the way food can sidestep into a story. A certain scent, a flavor can whoosh you all the way back to a place, a person. Food can become linked with the emotion of a moment. I think that’s interesting.
Maybe I just like a snack with my stories.
Fat pig in the market is about the impulse to oink which to me means:
What’s that? I’ll try it.
This is definitely a good idea. I’m in, boss.
Yes.
You with me? Let’s do this!
Nice to meet you and thank you for stopping by!
